Itinerary & map

After arriving in Naples, continue your journey and follow the road along the impressive rocky coast of Naples. Spectacular panoramic views of the deep blue sea and the rugged coast of the Gulf of Naples open up before you again and again. Impressed by this breathtaking play of colors, you finally reach your selected hotel in Massa Lubrense near Sorrento.

After breakfast we go on an exploration tour of the charming small town of Sorrento. On our way through the winding streets we visit a limoncello company, where we can taste the lemon liqueur typical of the region. The heart of the city is Piazza Tasso with the monument to the poet Torquato Tasso. The scent of the orange and lemon gardens as well as the breathtaking views of the glittering sea panorama will enchant us again and again. In the afternoon you have the opportunity to explore the popular holiday resort on your own before we take a bus back to the hotel in Massa Lubrense in the evening.

Today we take the Circumvesuviana regional train to the lively metropolis of Naples. After our arrival, we explore the old town on an extensive city tour that takes us through the narrow streets and past numerous houses with balconies. In addition to the imposing cathedral, we also visit the church of Santa Chiara, which has a fascinating cloister decorated with majolica work. On our way to the harbor we pass the San Carlo Opera and the Galleria Umberto, an elegant Art Nouveau shopping arcade. Here you will certainly have time for a cup of caffè, as the Italians simply call their espresso, before we start the journey back to the hotel.

Today you have the opportunity to take part in an optional excursion to the rocky island of Capri. The picturesque crossing to Capri, with the limestone cliffs rising out of the water off the coast, is already impressive. After arriving in Capri we take a walk through the Augustus Gardens. This lovingly designed park rewards us with breathtaking views of the Tyrrhenian Sea. After a lunch break we reach Anacapri and visit the Villa S. Michele of the Swedish doctor and writer Axel Munthe. The whitewashed villa, surrounded by magnificent gardens, nestles on the slope of the Capodimonte. We visit the main rooms with numerous collection items and personal items from the former owners. On the return journey there are always wonderful views of the coast and the outermost headland, Punta Campanella. If you don't feel like going to Capri, you have the day at your own leisure to spend as you please.

Breathtaking views await us on the picturesque journey along the Amalfitana. This winding coastal road is considered by many to be the most beautiful panoramic road in the world, not least because of its beautiful coastal scenery. The road winds along numerous gorges and cliffs, always opening up new perspectives on this unique coastal region. As we pass through charming towns such as Positano and Amalfi, we finally reach Ravello - an oasis of calm surrounded by vineyards and lemon groves. After visiting the cathedral, we relax in the gardens of Villa Rufolo with a wonderful view of the Gulf of Salerno.

For those who wish, today there is the opportunity to take part in an optional excursion to the green island of Ischia. We take the speedboat directly from Sorrento to Ischia, where pine forests, vineyards and exotic vegetation await us. An island tour takes us to the most beautiful places around the extinct volcano Monte Epomeo. The afternoon is at your leisure. You have the opportunity to visit the Aragonese Castle, explore the city again or take a walk to the beach. In the late afternoon we return to Sorrento by speedboat and finally take the bus to our hotel in Massa Lubrense. Of course, you can also spend the day relaxing in Massa Lubrense or stroll through Sorrento again on your own.

On the southern slope of Mount Vesuvius lies the ancient city of Pompeii, which was buried under a thick layer of ash and pumice when the volcano erupted in 79 AD. With its well-preserved temples, gates and theaters, the ruined city takes us back to a time when Pompeii was a thriving provincial capital. Both everyday life and the dramatic moment of destruction were preserved for posterity under this meter-high ceiling of volcanic material. Today, Pompeii allows us to take an impressive look into the past. In the afternoon we take the bus and drive most of the way up to the summit of Vesuvius. However, we have to walk the last part to the crater. The climb does not require particularly good fitness, but could be found strenuous due to the constantly ascending path. But the effort is rewarded because when we reach the top we have a fantastic view that makes up for the walk! Please wear sturdy shoes for the climb.

Today marks your farewell to the Gulf of Naples. The diverse impressions of the varied landscape and the experiences of the past few days will remain in your memory for a long time. You can now either drive to the airport or begin your individual connecting stay.
